Family health issues forced Tania Pleischl into retiring early from a career with FedEx. She had also enjoyed a brief stint in real estate during those years, and upon returning to Fort Myers from Memphis, decided to give real estate a second look. “I love working in real estate. It is fun bringing new owners to new property. I love being able to find the right fit for both buyers and sellers.”
Tania and her husband took time off to sail their Hans Christian sail boat across the Atlantic Ocean and back again from 2006 through 2008. “We lived on board while in Europe, specifically in the Azores Islands, Portugal, Madeira Islands, Canary Islands, and various places in the Caribbean including Barbados, Grenada, the Grenadines, Bequia, St. Lucia, and the British Virgin Islands.” On return from their “odyssey”, former customers asked Tania to represent them in the purchase of a prestigious Gulf Harbour home. “Even though I hold a Broker’s license in the state of Florida, I wanted to associate myself with a great company that was a natural fit for me. I knew some other agents that had worked for CornerStone Coastal Properties and polled them. It was all good.” After meeting with the brokers, Tania decided to hang her license at CornerStone Coastal Properties. “They helped me to fit in the new technology I had not experienced, having been away from the field for some time. ‘A great team and a great office. We were able to facilitate the purchase of the Gulf Harbour Estate, and it was a quick and seamless deal.”
The Pleischl’s are Gulf Harbour home owners themselves. Their thirty three foot sailboat – Saretta’s Dream – was the sixth yacht to arrive in the Gulf Harbour Yacht and Country Club’s brand new marina in 1995. Construction of their Pulte Villa in Osprey Landing was completed in 1996. “As a result I have been able to watch the entire community develop, meet with all the builders and see a great number of the properties being constructed over the years – valuable knowledge when selling the Gulf Harbour Yacht and Country Club lifestyle”, Tania says. With all of the amenities the community offers, she can think of few reasons to venture out, except to travel to nearby shops and restaurants.
Tania’s husband and best friend, Bob, is retired from flying for FedEx. He is also retired from the Air Force, where he flew in Vietnam and 141′s as a reservist out of California and Charleston, South Carolina for 20 years. Currently a member of the Sports Car Club of America [SCCA], he races a Spec Racer Ford. As Tania puts it, “We travel to some of the major tracks in this country to race on weekends: Sebring, Daytona, Homestead, Palm Beach International Raceway, Lime Rock, Mid-Ohio, and Road Atlanta. We also are big fans of Formula One, IndyCar, Rolex, Continental Tire, NASCAR, and Le Mans Racing. We had considered traveling back across the Atlantic this year, but weather patterns are such that we decided to wait. We have been car traveling since 2008. We spent several weeks traveling out west and up the Pacific Coast Highway in 2010 before returning home to Gulf Harbour. We car traveled up to the Canadian Maritimes in 2011. This year we will visit our family and friends in New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Ohio. We will also do some more SCCA racing.”
