Marsha Asp

Born in Minnesota and currently residing in what she calls the “perfect place,” Marsha Asp appreciates the beauty of Southwest Florida. She also respects and admires it, having been able to watch the area grow since her move here in 1973, when Fort Myers was known as a “small town.” Some of Marsha’s hobbies include biking, walking and kayaking, all of which she is able to do in Lakes Park, which is practically her backyard! Her love for the park is apparent. She donates her time as the vice-president for the non-profit Lakes Park Enrichment Foundation, whose goal is to restore the park to its native Florida wildlife environment. Marsha certainly believes in Southwest Florida. She is proudly available to assist clients not only in the Fort Myers area, but Sanibel-Captiva Islands, Estero, Bonita Springs and/or Naples. Why did Marsha chose real estate as a career? She has simply always held a desire to meet a variety of people and found great joy in “helping them realize their dream of a Florida home.” She chose CornerStone back in 2010 because she was attracted to its reputation in the community and their utilization of technology, which has allowed Marsha to become even more efficient, accessible and accommodating to her clientele. Marsha is one to strive to stay busy, so when she is not saving the environment or adhering to her clients needs, she can be found attending to her two kitties, Fred and Ginger, or traveling. She calls traveling “a special interest of mine,” having been to China and Tibet in the Summer of 2012. Finding beauty in different cultures, environments and people is of great value to Marsha.

Judy Mitchell

Judy Mitchell transferred thirty years of critical care nursing skills to a second career in real estate. “I have a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing. I wanted to do something different; have more autonomy. I thought I could use many of the same skills in real estate that I had used in nursing: listening to home buyers, to really find the right place for them; follow up and follow through.” It worked. “I love working with buyers, listening to them about what they are looking for, teaching them about the Fort Myers market, and going out shopping for houses!” Judy cites the brokers at CornerStone Coastal Properties as her reason for joining the brokerage. Judy and her husband Jeff have been married for twenty five years. They love their Laguna Lakes home with its proximity to the beach and Sanibel Island. In her spare time Judy enjoys bicycling, boating, tennis, and rooting for the home team, the Chicago Cubs. She also volunteers as high school competitive color guard coach, and can still put a pretty mean spin on rifle, something she learned during her own days in Color Guard. Judy recommends visiting the beaches of Southwest Florida, and taking advantage of the bicycling and wildlife watching opportunities available here.

When asked what he loves most about his current home Gerard says, “The simple, unassuming lifestyle that is so normal here.” He likes that he can talk to a client while walking the beach, fishing or riding his bike. Gerard has been a broker associate with CornerStone Coastal Properties since June of 2010. He specializes in commercial and income property, as well as fine homes, and holds the prestigious CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) Designation. Dave Simms

A University of Iowa business and pre-law major, Dave Simms, found himself in the real estate arena shortly after college. During his tenure with Skogman Homes, he earned his real estate license in 1973 and his broker’s license in 1974. Since then, Dave has garnered a wealth of experience in many areas of the real estate industry, including project management, building, development, budgeting, VA and FHA home loan approval, advertising, sales and marketing. “My wife of twenty eight years, Penny, and I grew tired of Wisconsin’s damp, cold, gray cloudy days with limited time for boating, fishing and golfing. We traveled for two years exploring the pros and cons of living in CA, TX, AZ, AL, U.S. Virgin Islands, the Atlantic Coast of Florida and the Gulf Coast of Southwest Florida. SW Florida was a no-brainer: No cold days, only occasional cloudy days, lots of sun and warm temperatures, numerous golf courses, expansive waters that provide beaches, boating and fishing, tons of restaurants, countless tourist attractions and many civic events all made this the absolute best choice for our lifestyle.” Dave ultimately chose CornerStone Coastal Properties, “because of the high level of professionalism and commitment to leading edge technologies. Their websites, branding, selection of individuals with experience and proven track records plus an unsurpassed support team make it a privilege and pleasure to work here at CornerStone Coastal Properties.” Visit Dave’s website for details on where to eat, stay, play and enjoy more in Southwest Florida.
